Vitamin C with Rose Hips, 500 mg, 110 Tablets is a 21st Century dietary supplement formulated around 500 mg. Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble antioxidant and an essential cofactor for collagen hydroxylation, carnitine synthesis and several enzymatic reactions. It also supports normal immune-cell function and improves absorption of non-heme iron. Rose hips, when present, add naturally occurring plant compounds but do not replace the defined ascorbic-acid dose. From a scientific-use perspective, the most useful way to assess this product is to place the labeled dose in context with normal dietary exposure, nutrient status and other supplements being taken. Absorption, metabolism and clinical relevance can vary among individuals, and more of a nutrient is not automatically better. For multi-ingredient products, the combination should be considered as a whole because ingredients may overlap with multivitamins, fortified foods or condition-specific formulas. Its role is best described as nutritional support consistent with the established physiology of its ingredients. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. People using prescription medicines, managing chronic conditions, preparing for procedures, or combining several supplements should review total intake and potential interactions with a qualified healthcare professional.
