Flaxseed Oil is an oral softgel preparation. The documented 1 Softgel serving provides Polyunsaturated Fat <1 g, Flaxseed Oil Which typically contains: Alpha-Linolenic Acid 1,200 mg (1.2 g) 675 mg and Linoleic Acid 180 mg. Flaxseed oil supplies plant-derived fatty acids, especially alpha-linolenic acid when quantified. Alpha-linolenic acid is an essential omega fatty acid involved in nutritional lipid metabolism, but it is chemically distinct from alpha-lipoic acid. Its presence is also not equivalent to supplying the same amounts of EPA or DHA found in a marine oil preparation.
