Medium Chain Triglycerides is an oral softgel supplement. The source panel lists Medium-Chain Triglyceride Oil 1 g; Caprylic Acid 500 mg; Capric Acid 340 mg per 1 softgel. Medium-chain triglycerides supply fatty acids that are absorbed and metabolized differently from most long-chain dietary fats. Caprylic and capric acids can serve as substrates for energy production. The total MCT amount and the proportions of individual fatty acids define this product; it is not compositionally identical to ordinary coconut oil or a complete omega-fatty-acid supplement.
